mud runner: icebreaker course details

Break the ice and smash away those winter blues.

Following a run:bike:run format comprising:

  • 10 arduous country kilometres around the Eastnor Estate using the same tracks that Land Rovers have been tested and developed on. The run is on a variety of terrain and conditions from rolling grassland (well a little bit anyway) to mud, wet mud and sticky mud. The course includes hills, waterfilled pits, muddy banks and did we mention mud. You will get very wet!
  • 20km of off road mountain biking around the estate and edges of the Malvern Hills, a good mix of open tracks, paths and singletrack.
  • a cheeky 3km run around the castle lake and maybe a little stream to finish.

Help For Heroes

It’s about ‘the blokes’: those men and women of our Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of our country since 9/11.

H4H provides direct, practical support for our wounded. They fund projects and initiatives that make a real difference to the lives of our wounded heroes.

H4H do not seek to criticise or be political. They just want to help and they work closely with the Army, Navy and RAF to provide support where it is most needed.

‘Money in, money out’. H4H pride themselves on their ‘Money In and Money Out’ policy that ensures that every penny you raise is spent or allocated to the direct, practical support of our men and women of the Armed Forces whose lives are affected in the line of duty.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Website Redevelopment, Day 8, Progress Update

I’ve managed to do quite a lot to the website this week, here’s a quick run down of what I’ve done:

  • Added a new JJS Web Design logo image to the page header
  • Changed the page footer contents and style
  • Added more post content, with associated categories and tags
  • Added the ‘Why Choose JJS Web Design‘ page
  • Activated the Classa theme ‘featured posts’ option (displayed at the top of the home page)
  • Added the globe image at the top of the sidebar
  • Added a Twitter feed widget, and then completely restyled the CSS
  • Added the ‘Links’, ‘Archives’ and ‘Tag Cloud’ widgets to the sidebar

Still to do:

  • Create a contact page
  • Install a Facebook widget
  • Add more content (portfolio)

I’m still amazed at how easy WordPress has been to pick up, I think I’ll soon be at the point where I can develop my first WordPress customer website.

Penrallt Coastal Campsite

Penrallt Coastal Campsite is set in a quiet and peaceful location, occupying a slightly elevated position, boasting magnificent views along the west coastline of the Llyn Peninsula; with Porth Colman to the south, and Morfa Nefyn to the north.

In 1956, a large part of the Llyn Peninsula was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty under the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949.

Penrallt Coastal Campsite is slightly ‘off the beaten track’, being down a private lane, with fields running down to the sea.

There is direct access to the coastal path and sandy beaches. The small harbour of Porth Ysgaden (where small boats can be launched) is only 5 minutes away by car.

The local village of Tudweiliog has an excellent Public House serving good food and ales, there is also a Post Office and shop.

Penrallt Coastal Campsite has been awarded Green Dragon Environmental Accreditation from the Welsh Assembly Government for our commitment to Environmental Sustainability.
